TOWSON, Md. – Burke Camper has been selected as one of 10 student-athletes across the country to be a
Collegiate Baseball News National Player of the Week, announced by the publication on Monday.
Camper had a tremendous week at the plate, helping the Tigers defeat Niagara and take two of four against Princeton. After playing its first 12 games away from Schuerholz, Towson is 5-3 at home since March 8.
The junior catcher/designated hitter from Allison Park, Pennsylvania played in four games this past week, hitting .545 with five home runs, including two each in a pair of games vs. Princeton. He amassed a 1.909 slugging %, scoring seven runs and finishing with 10 RBI.
From March 11-19, Camper had at least one home run in four consecutive games, totaling six in that span. He is currently hitting .268 with seven home runs, 14 runs and 12 RBI on the season.
Ten players across the country were chosen for this weekly honor, selected by
Collegiate Baseball, which has been in operation for over 40 years.
Camper and the Tigers next play tomorrow at No. 10 Virginia at 4 p.m. on the ACC Network.
