Tiger Title IX Anniversary Team – Sixth Round

TOWSON, Md. – Continuing to announce the Tiger IX Anniversary Team in honor of the 50th anniversary of Title IX being passed, TowsonTigers.com is proud to announce the sixth round of student-athletes and administrators from women's sports over the last 50 years.
 
Shannon Witzel '07 (Lacrosse) – Shannon is tied for the all-time mark of 208 career goals for the women's lacrosse team, including two of the top three single season goal scoring records.  A 2006 IWLCA Second Team All-American, the three time All-CAA player and 2005 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Most Outstanding Player helped the Tigers win its first-ever CAA title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005.  Shannon also stands in the top-10 in Towson history in caused turnovers with 79.
 
Kelly Robinson '08 (Basketball, Track & Field) – Kelly was a stellar two-sport athlete for Towson, setting career marks on the hardwood and in track & field.  She graduated with school records in the discus throw, javelin throw and shot put, twice qualifying for the NCAA Championships and was a CAA champion in the javelin throw.  In basketball, she scored 1,171 points, currently 11th all-time in program history, scoring at least 250 points in all four seasons as a starter. 
 
Christina Ghani '08 (Gymnastics) – One of Towson's most decorated gymnasts, Christina earned First Team All-ECAC recognition in each all-around, vault, floor exercise and uneven bars in 2005 and 2006, earning a total of 10 first team selections including all-around and vault in 2007.  The 2005 and 2006 ECAC Gymnast of the Year was a five-time ECAC individual champion and stands fourth all-time in program history with 1,847.250 points, helping the Tigers win three league titles.
 
Christina Boarman '09 (Field Hockey) – One of only two Towson field hockey athletes to be a two-time All-CAA First Team honoree, Christina is the program's all-time goals (46), assists (36) and points leader (128) leader, leading the team in all three categories in three seasons.  Her 20 goals in 2008 is the Towson single season record, leading her to be Mid-Atlantic All-Regional First Team.  Christina was also a four-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Team.
 
Morgan Reich '09 (Golf) – The first-ever student-athlete to be recruited to play women's golf at Towson, Morgan helped Towson win five tournaments in her career, being the first Tiger to shoot a 73 at the 2008 Lady Herd Fall Classic, totaling a then-Towson record 149 strokes in a two-day event.  In her Towson career, Reich finished in the top-10 eight times, including three top-five finishes. 
 
Alison Williams (Coach) – Alison was Towson's women's lacrosse coach from 1991-92, leading the Tigers to a pair of East Coast Conference championships and 19 victories, including a perfect league record both years.  She was Towson's first black head coach of the women's lacrosse team and would go on to be a head coach at Georgetown and Villanova, earning 60 victories in seven seasons at the helm of the three programs.
