Gymnastics Earns 13 All-EAGL Selections

Weirton, WV – The East Atlantic Gymnastics League has announced the first and second all-EAGL teams for the 2023 competitive season Monday morning as conference members prepare for EAGL Championships this Saturday, March 18 at the University of New Hampshire. 
 
Gymnasts who are ranked in the top eight (including ties) of each event and all-around qualify for first team. Those who rank ninth to 16 (including ties) are named to the second team. All rankings are based on National Qualifying Score (NQS).  
 
Towson picked up 13 All-EAGL selections for the 2023 season, which is one more than last season. The Tigers had the most All-EAGL athletes out of all the schools in the conference. 
 
Isabella Minervini and Grace Vaillancourt both were named to First-Team All-EAGL for bars and Second-Team for floor. Polina BelanovskiCamille Vitoff, Lauren Bolen were all awarded First-Team for vault while Steph Macasu (bars), Clara Hong (bars), Lauren Keener (bars), Amy Stewart (floor), Paige Casper (floor) and Carmella Calafati (floor) were named to Second-Team All-EAGL.  
 
Vault – First Team 
Polina Belanovski ranked second in EAGL with a vault NQS of 9.885. The rookie hit a 9.900 or better four times this season including a career high 9.925 on Feb 26 at a home quad meet. She competed in the event at all 13 meets, claiming the title at six of the competitions. 
 
Camille Vitoff earned a vault NQS of 9.850 to tie for sixth in EAGL. The senior scored 9.8250 or better at seven meets, including a career high 9.925 at the Temple quad meet on March 2.  She competed in the event at all 13 meets this season.
 
Lauren Bolen tied for eighth in EAGL with a vault NQS of 9.840. She matched her career high 9.900 at the home quad meet on Feb 26. She hit 9.800 or better eight times this season, competing in the event at all 13 meets.
 
Bars – First Team 
Isabella Minervini tied for third in EAGL with a bars NQS of 9.910. She earned 9.900 or better five times this season including a career high 9.950 twice on February 10 and March 12. The freshman competed in the event at all 13 meets.
 
Grace Vaillancourt tied with Minervini for third also with a bars NQS of 9.910. She scored 9.800 or better at 12 of the 13 meets, including a 9.950 career high at the UPenn quad meet on Feb 12.
 
Bars – Second Team 
Steph Macasu collected a bars NQS of 9.865. She hit a career high 9.925 last week at the Denver dual meet. The sophomore posted 9.800 or better at eight meets.
 
Clara Hong received bars NQS of 9.850. The sophomore earned a career high 9.925 at the home dual meet with George Washington on Feb 1. She competed in the event at 10 meets this season.
 
Lauren Keener earned a bars NQS of 9. 845. She hit a career high 9.900 at the Maryland five meet this past Sunday after originally setting it earlier this season.
 
Floor – Second Team 
 Amy Stewart received a floor NQS of 9.875. She competed in the event at 12 meets this season, hitting her season high 9.925 on Feb 1. The senior logged 9.800 or better at 10 of the meets.

Isabella Minervini earned a floor NQS of 9.875 as well to earn her second All-EAGL nomination. The rookie posted 9.850 or better seven times this season, including two career high 9.900s on Feb 1 and Feb 26.

Paige Casper had a NQS of 9.870 after competing in the event for all 13 meets, earning 9.800 or better eight times. She posted her career best 9.925 twice this season, on Feb 12 and Feb 26.

Carmella Calafati is one of three Towson freshman to be named to All-EAGL. She finished the regular season with a floor NQS of 9.860, competing in the event 10 times. Calafati posted her career high 9.875 at three consecutive meets.

Grace Vaillancourt collected her second All-EAGL on floor with an NQS of 9.855. She competed in the event nine times this season, posting her career high 9.900 at the George Washington quad meet on Feb 10.
