Southport, NC – The Towson University women's golf team has completed the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships in fifth place after rounds of 305-308-309. The Tigers finished the event at 56-over with four players in the top-25 individually.
College of Charleston successfully defended it's championship title, winning the event for the second consecutive year after rounds of 295-292-293. The Cougars separated themselves from runner up University of Delaware by over 10 strokes and led the field in par 3s, 4s and overall number of pars. Elon rounded out the podium, placing third at 35-over. Charleston's Emma Schimpf remained in the lead to clinch the individual title as the only player to finish the tournament under par. She had rounds of 71-72-70 to edge out Delaware's Anna Kittelson by five strokes.
The course averages for each round of the tournament were 79.33-78.69-77.87.
Faith McIlvain (77-74-75) was the top finisher for the Tigers, tying for 10
th after shooting 3-over on the final day. The junior added three more birdies to close out the final round.
Odette Font Garcia (75-80-77) improved by three strokes on her final round to tie for 19
th overall. She was on par for 13 of the final 18 holes.

Madison Barber (77-77-78) who concluded her collegiate career at 6-over for round three of play, notching two birdies. Barber was one of four players to earn an eagle during the tournament, recording one during the back nine of the second round.
Finishing the tournament tied for 24
th was
Isabella Portokalis (76-77-82) who tallied two more birdies for the final 18 holes. Portokalis ranked second overall for par 3 average at an even 3.00.
Kyndall Campbell (89-87-79) had a successful final day, improving by 10 strokes from her first-round score. The freshman tallied three birdies, two during the back nine, to finish tied for 37
th.
