TOWSON, Md. – Towson fifth-year midfielders
Georgia Beachley and
Hannah McKeon have been named to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCHA) Division I Watchlist. They join 131 featured student-athletes from 40 Division I institutions.
Beachley has been a five-year staple in the starting lineup for the Black & Gold. She earned preseason and postseason all-conference honors last season and was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team in 2019. The Bel Air, Maryland native was one of two Tigers, along with McKeon, selected to the USA Field Hockey Senior Nexus Championship in June, an annual tournament featuring elite high school, collegiate and post-collegiate athletes. Beachley currently stands ninth all-time in program history with 19 goals and seventh among point leaders with 52.
McKeon is coming off her best season yet as a Tiger, pacing the squad with seven goals and 19 points, earning her All-CAA Second Team distinction in the postseason. The Pasadena, Maryland native was selected to the Senior Nexus Championship in June along with Beachley and was named a 2023 Preseason All-CAA Field Hockey Team selection. She ranks 35
th all-time among point leaders in program history.
The NFHCA Watchlist is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2023 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Nexus Championship selection, AAU Junior Olympic Games selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and the student-athlete's head coach must be an active NFHCA member.
This list does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region or All-American teams. Student-athletes not listed on the NFHCA Watchlist may still be nominated for NFHCA All-Region and All-American recognition.
