LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Towson University women's golf team wrapped up the first day of play at the season opener, completing 18 holes at the Bucknell University Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers currently sit in third place at 20-over, 300 after all six Tigers shot in the 70s. The University of Pennsylvania leads the field at 15-over while host team Bucknell follows in second place after finishing at 19-over.
Rayab Lee steered the team's first-day efforts, leading the 73-player field after carding a 1-over, 71, which is a collegiate career-low for the senior. She notched three birdies total, all during the back nine. Additionally, she parred 12 holes in total.
Luciana Calbimonte was Towson's second-highest finisher, currently sitting in 12
th place after shooting 5-over, 75. She recorded 13 pars total across 18 holes.
Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon,
Peyton Costabile and
Grace Oristian all tied for 32
nd place after recording 77's. Oristian sunk a birdie on hole 17.
Kyndall Campbell, competing as an individual, rounded out the squad in 42
nd place after wrapping up play with a 9-over, 79.
The Black & Gold resume the second round of the tournament tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
