BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Towson University tennis team is sending Chandre Boshoff, Gaia Montecchi and Kiersten Tambe to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Championship this week.

Field: Towson will be joined by Delaware State, George Mason, George Washington, Howard, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Loyola (Md.), Marshall, Maryland, Morgan State, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Norfolk State, Old Dominion, Richmond, Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and William & Mary.
Format: Tournament play begins on Thursday with two rounds of qualifying singles and a qualifying back-draw, followed by Friday's round-of-64 for singles and doubles. Saturday features two more singles rounds, the doubles round-of-32, and the start of consolation draws. On Sunday, singles quarterfinals lead into the doubles round-of-16 and quarterfinals. Monday hosts the singles and doubles semifinals, with finals concluding Tuesday. Singles main draw matches will be best-of-three full sets, while doubles will use 8-game pro sets until the semifinals, which shift to best-of-three with a 10-point tiebreak in place of a third set. Qualifying singles matches will also use a match tiebreak instead of a full third set.

Towson traveled to Baltimore in early October for the McClure Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Maryland.
On the first day of the tournament, Sania Suchinsky and Ashira Murray secured a pair of singles wins against Loyola. Kiersten Tambe and Chandre Boshoff picked up a win in the only doubles match of the day.
The Black & Gold won seven matches on the final day of the tournament, highlighted by five singles wins from Chandre Boshoff, Ashira Murray, Kiersten Tambe, Gaia Montecchi and Chloe Courtnage. The duos of Kiersten Tambe and Gaia Montecchi as well as Aubrey Carper and Tamzin Pountney racked up two more doubles wins against Loyola and Morgan State.
