BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Towson University tennis team wrapped up main draw tournament play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regionals on Friday.

Kiersten Tambe and Chandre Boshoff took on Francesca Davis and Tilda Larsson from William & Mary. After tough competition, the Tigers fell 8-3 to The Tribe.

In singles competition, sophomore Kiersten Tambe competed against Sofia Jane Thorne from Virigina Commonwealth. Tambe dropped in a 6-2, 6-0 decision.

After earning two victories on Thursday to advance to the main draw, Gaia Montecchi battled against No. 9 seed Diya Challa of Maryland. Montecchi competed through two tight sets before ultimately falling 6-4, 6-2. "Gaia was extremely competitive with the No. 9 seed from Maryland and had a point go 5-5 in the first set", noted head coach Jamie Peterson.
