TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team is set to play three games in six days this week as the Tigers will take a short trip tomorrow Wednesday, October 8 to face American at 3 p.m. before returning home to host Coastal Athletic Association rivals William & Mary on Friday, October 10 at 3 p.m. then ending the weekend with another home game against Saint Francis on Sunday, October 12 at noon.
Scouting the Opponents:
The American Eagles are 6-4 on the season and are coming off a pair of wins over Lafayette and Villanova. American is led by junior Jordan Reicher and senior Agustina Roffo who have paced the Eagles with 15 and 14 points respectively on the season. Goalkeeper Pauline Gineste holds a .776 save percentage and is allowing only 1.07 goals per game.
The William & Mary Tribe are 1-9 so far in the 2025 and are 0-1 in CAA play after losing to Northeastern last week. Junior Josie Mae Gruendel leads the Tribe with four goals and nine points this season while senior Emma Scwartz also has multiple goals.
The Saint Francis Red Flash are 9-3 on the season and are currently on a six-game winning streak following wins over Wagner and Lock Haven last weekend. Sophomore Sofia Marciano leads the way with 11 goals and 24 points averaging two points a game. Fellow sophomore Cruz Canepa is up to nine assists on the season. Goalie Mia DiGenova has a .731 save percentage through 12 games.

After the Tigers allowed 13 goals in the Towson's first two games this season, senior midfielder
Megan Popp began being played as a back as well as in the midfield. In the nine games since Towson has allowed one goal or less six times and hasn't allowed more than three goals in a game.

Tessa Scheenstra allowed 13 goals in her first two games of the year, an average of 6.5 per game. In the nine games since the opening weekend, Scheenstra has allowed 13 goals, an average of 1.44 per game.
