TOWSON, Md – Towson University field hockey player
Shannon Quaile has been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, which recognizes the nation's top student athletes who combine performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom, announced on Tuesday.
Quaile started all 18 games for the Tigers this season after transferring from Old Dominion. The defender finished the season with seven points on three goals and one assist, as well as three defensive saves. The graduate student scored goals in a 5-4 win over Georgetown, and in a 2-1 win over Bellarmine. Quaile also made a defensive save in Towson's 2-1 overtime victory over William & Mary. She is majoring in speech language pathology to obtain her master's degree.
The women's at-large program consists of the following sports: beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo. Universities can nominate up to six student-athletes each season for at-large bids.
Academic eligibility requires nominees to have a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be at least a sophomore by academic standing.
Athletically, the student-athlete must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games or started a minimum of 66 percent of them.
