TOWSON, Md. –
Noelle Frost has assumed the role of Associate Head Coach of the Towson University field hockey team, Head Coach
Katie Gerzabek Salem announced on Monday.
Frost joined the Towson field hockey program before the 2023 season after previously serving as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Maryland where she had been a three-year starter as a goalkeeper. Frost also previously served as goalkeeper coach at Johns Hopkins University.
Frost's two seasons with Towson have seen improvement in both the goalkeeping and defensive units. The Tiger's starting goalie
Tessa Scheenstra's .669 save percentage as a freshman has improved to .712 as a junior. The rising senior saw her average goals allowed per game dip under 2 for the first time in her career in 2024 and her improved play was rewarded with a 2025 Preseason All-CAA nod last week. The Towson defense saw a 19-goal improvement last season, allowing 35 goals after giving up 54 in 2023. Tiger opponents were held to one goal or less nine times in 2024 after the feat was only accomplished three times the previous season.
"Since Noelle's arrival to Towson, her impact on our program, and specifically our defensive and goalkeeping unit has been enormous." Coach Gerzabek Salem said, "Her passion about this sport, her commitment to being a lifelong learner, and her dedication day in and day out to helping our Tiger program reach new heights are all reasons why she has earned this Associate Head Coach position. I am so excited to continue to work alongside her as we embark on yet another season together!"
The 2025 season starts off this Friday, August 29 as the Tigers host Appalachian State at the TU Field Hockey Complex at 4 p.m.
