Last weekend, the Black & Gold traveled to Philadelphia, Pa. for Bucknell's Gulden Invitational, where Towson collected four first-place finishes and earned meet MVP honors from junior
Baara Stewart.
In the 60m, senior
Princess Asante captured gold for the Tigers, clocking 7.71.
Nesther Wea added another top finish in the 200m, taking first with a time of 25.19.
The Tigers' 4x800m of Stewart,
Addison Mau,
Jaayah Jenkins and
Layla James combined for a winning time of 9:24.30, placing third all-time in program history. Stewart continued her standout weekend in the 1000m, winning gold and resetting Towson's school record with a personal-best 2:53.54. The mark broke a 39-year-old record previously set by Maureen Shaneman in 1987.
Stewart's performances earned her Gulden Invitational MVP honors, and earlier this week she was named CAA Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive time.
