TOWSON, Md. –
Teagan Gardner was named Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week after being the only player to have a clean sheet victory in CAA play this week.
This is the third CAA Defensive Player of the Week for Gardner. It is the second time in the past three years that a Towson player has won three CAA Defensive Player of the Week awards. Riley Melendez did it in 2024.
The Leesburg, Virginia native faced 14 shots against Stony Brook, a new season high. Gardner saved all five shots put on frame. The clean sheet from Gardner helped secure the top spot in the CAA North Division for Towson.
The Tigers remain at home for two matches this week. The first is on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. against UNCW followed by a Sunday, Oct. 11 tilt at 1 p.m. against Charleston. Admission to all matches at Tiger Field is free.
