TOWSON, Md. – Allen Betrand and
Brian Fobbs combined to score 25 points during Towson University's 61-45 setback to visiting Northeastern in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opener at SECU Arena Saturday afternoon.
This game was the start of a four-game in eight day stretch for the Tigers and Huskies.
Betrand reached double digits for the ninth time this season with 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting. He scored 10 of his points in the second half. It was the fifth time this season, Betrand scored double digits after intermission. Betrand is averaging 17 points over Towson's last two games.
Tyson Walker scored 17 points to help Northeastern win its CAA opener for the eighth consecutiuve season. Also reaching double digits for the reigning CAA Tournament champion Huskies were Jordan Roland (14 points) and Maxime Boursiquot (12).

- Northeastern opened the contest by making 8 of its first 16 shots to take an early 16-10 advantage.
- Boursiquot gave the Huskies the lead for good, 10-8, following a layup with 14:39 remaining in the first half.
- Towson faced its largest halftime deficit of the season, 29-17, after committing 11 of its 15 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
