EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. -The Towson University women's golf team has officially wrapped up the 2023 fall season, completing the final round of the Edisto Island Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers concluded the tournament after shooting 307 for round three, accumulating nine birdies and finishing with a final score of 921.
Host team College of Charleston remained in first at the conclusion of day two to win the invitational, wrapping up play after shooting 282. The Cougars' had four athletes place in the top 10, helping them reclaim the tournament title as they fell to Charleston Southern by four strokes in 2022. Georgia Southern's Louise Reau was the top individual champion after shooting 68-70-67. Reau finished 5-under par atop the 93-player field.
Isabella Portokalis remained Towson's top finisher, placing tied for 31
st after shooting 75 for her final round. The senior parred 11 holes and notched one birdie.
Faith McIlvain's final round was her best round as she shot her best score by five strokes. McIlvain was on par across 13 holes and recorded a birdie during the back nine.
Peyton Costabile and
Madison Barber shot a pair of 79s for their last round, earning a combined six birdies.
Grace Oristian wrapped up play with a score of 84.
