WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Towson University women's golf team completed day one of play at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, sitting in 8
th place after 36 holes. The Tigers finished 48-over par after two rounds on the River Course, earning a final score of 305-319.
Georgetown finished the day in first place after shooting 19-over, only two strokes ahead of runner up UNCA. Four players are currently tied for first individually, each shooting an even par 144 after two rounds.
Faith McIlvain was the top finisher for the Tigers. McIlvain had a strong first round, finishing the front 18 holes tied for fourth in a 51 player-field after shooting an even par 72. The senior bogeyed four holes, but was able to notch four birdies and par the remaining 10. She shot an 82 for her second round, adding two more birdies to her score card to finish the day tied for 26
th.
Also tied for 26
th with McIlvain was freshman
Grace Oristian. The Maryland native made her debut as a Tiger having even rounds of 77-77. She totaled four birdies throughout two rounds of play.
Isabella Portokalis had rounds of 77-79 to finish 12-over par for the day.
Madison Barber (79-81) and
Kyndall Campbell (87-85) rounded out the Tigers' day one efforts.
The third and final round begins tomorrow morning with an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
