TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University track & field team begins the 2024 outdoor slate at home, hosting the Tiger Season Opener on Saturday, March 16.

Facility: Johnny Unitas Stadium | Towson, Md.
Field: The Tigers will welcome athletes from Camden County College, CCBC Essex, Cheyney, Coppin State, DC International, Delaware County CC, Farleigh Dickinson University, George Washington, Goucher, Hagerstown CC, Harcum, Howard, Lafayette, RC – Gloucester CC, Rutgers – Newark, Seton Hall, Seton Hill, Stevenson, Temple, UMBC, Vermont and Wilmington (Delaware) as well as several club teams.
Start Times: Field events will start with the women's javelin at 9:00 a.m. while track events start at 11:45 a.m. with the 10k.

2023-24 Indoor Season Recap
Track & field had quite a successful indoor campaign, rewriting the record book with several new top-10 all-time marks and setting four new school records. Almost every Tiger earned a new PR in at least one event. The Black & Gold wrapped up the season with a top four finish at the 2024 Indoor Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship, backed by two CAA champions and four All-CAA performances.
Manie Mevo set the triple jump school record three times, finishing the season with a mark of 12.41m, which is a new conference record as well. She earned her second consecutive CAA Championship victory in the event, as she won triple jump at 2023 Outdoor CAA's. The sophomore was named CAA Field Athlete of the Week twice.
Cristal Cuervo set the 200m dash record three different times as well, ending the season with a 23.78. The junior made history as the first Towson female track athlete to break 24 seconds in the event. She became the second Tiger in program history to run under 55 seconds in the 400m dash, clocking a school record time of 54.25 to become the CAA Champion in the event. The Panama native was named CAA Track Athlete of the Week once.

Aubrey Schaffer set the school record twice, clocking a 12:11.95 for the fastest time in program history at CAAs.
