TOWSON, Md. – 23 Tigers from the Towson University track & field team will stay local this weekend, heading down the street for the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore while nine Tigers travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Georgia Tech.
Morgan State Legacy Meet
Date: Friday, April 19 – Saturday, April 20
Field: Bowie State, CCBC, Catonsville, Coppin State, Delaware State, District of Columbia, Essex CC, Hampton, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, Monroe College, Montgomery College, New Jersey City, NJIT, St. Peter's, UMBC, Virginia State and host Morgan State
Facility: Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium | Baltimore, Md.
Start Times: On Friday the meet starts with field events as the women's hammer throw kicks off at 10:00 a.m. The women's 400m hurdles opens the Saturday events at 9:40 a.m.

Last We Saw Them
Select Tigers competed in the Bison Outdoor Classic this past weekend in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Aubrey Schaffer dropped nearly one minute from her previous best time in the 10k, clocking a PR of 36:24.02 which ranks fifth all-time in program history. With this performance, the junior also became the sixth woman in Towson track & field history to break 37:00 in the event.
Baara Stewart ran a 2:15.46 in the 800m, less than a second off of her PR set two weeks ago.
Kelis Milburn and
Princess Asante clocked new PRs in the 400m and 200m, respectively.
Record Breaking Season
The 4x100 relay has broken the school record twice this season. At the Towson Season Opener on March 16, the squad of
Sydney Tucker,
Cristal Cuervo,
Ty'Liyah Hannah and
Maya Tucker ran a time of 45.25, narrowly breaking the previous record of 45.28 set by the same four Tigers last outdoor season. On April 6 at the USF Invitational, the same group reset the record with a time of 44.86. At the Towson Spring Invitational on March 29,
Maya Tucker broke the 100m dash record after clocking an 11.38.
In the Rankings
Through the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Squad Rankings, the Tigers rank 15
th in the NCAA in the triple jump and 16
th in the 100m dash. In the Mid-Atlantic Region Towson's program ranks 10
th, ahead of Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) foes Monmouth and Delaware as well as Maryland.
In the CAA,
Maya Tucker (11.38) ranks second in the 100m dash while
Cristal Cuervo (11.53) sits right behind her in third.
Sydney Tucker (11.70) ranks in the top 10 in the event as well, ranking ninth.
Maya Tucker (23.73) is fourth in the 200m dash while
Cristal Cuervo (24.28) is ninth. Cuervo also represents the Tigers in the top 10 of the 400m, ranking fifth with a 55.20.
Aubrey Schaffer ranks eighth in the 10k. The 4x100 relay ranks second with a 44.86, less than .30 off of Campbell.
Leeann Redlo sits atop the league in the high jump with a mark of 1.75m.
Manie Mevo ranks second in the triple jump with a 12.45m while
Kiara Murray (11.88m) and Denee Hibbert (11.82m – W:2.7) rank seventh and eighth respectively.
Fatimah Owens is the fourth-best athlete in the league in the shot put (14.26m) and fifth in the discus (48.42m).
Kira Parsons ranks sixth in the javelin with a distance of 39.35m.
Maya Tucker ranks 50
th in the NCAA in the 100m.
