TOWSON, Md. — The Towson University women's tennis team will host its final trio of regular season matches this coming weekend before starting the Colonial Athletic Association tournament the following week. The Tigers will welcome Delaware on April 19 (1 p.m.) before hosting Morgan State on April 21 (3 p.m.) and Saint Joseph's for Senior Day on April 23 (1 p.m.)

Senior Day
The Black & Gold will honor their three graduating seniors Jessica Assenmacher, Themis Haliou and Amelia Lawson before their match against St. Joe's on Saturday April 23.
Last Time Out
Towson won for the sixth time in the last eight matches, beating Bucknell 4-0 on Sunday, April 17.
The Tigers earned the doubles point winning two of the three sets. After the teams split at No. 2 and No. 3, Haliou and Lea Kosanovic rallied from down 5-1 to win six straight games. The 7-5 victory at No. 1 gave the home team a 1-0 lead.
Bucknell forfeited at No. 6 singles, giving Towson a 2-0 advantage. Towson used the doubles momentum and each of the other five singles players won their opening sets. Haliou made it 3-0 with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1. The race was on the clinch. Sarah Pospischill was the first to finish, winning at No. 4.
Fall 2021 Recap
Towson had a solid fall season, competing in four tournaments. Themis Haliou led the way to start off the fall, winning the B Flight at Maryland's Bedford Cup. Sarah Pospischill also placed second in her flight at the tournament. Haliou and Jessica Assenmacher then followed up with a strong doubles performance at ITA's, advancing to the round of 16. At Navy's Blue & Gold Invitational, Pospischill and Lea Kosanovic each advanced to the finals in their respective consolation flight.
The Tigers ended the season with the Fall Tiger Classic, where the team amassed 15 singles wins. Olivia Rothfeld went 3-0 over the weekend to lead the team.
New Faces
In addition to the nine returners, head coach Jamie Peterson welcomed three new student-athletes to the team in the fall. Freshmen Sissi Axelsson and Nadeen Shrebati both joined the squad from Sweden and Australia, respectively. Sophomore Olivia Rothfeld also transferred in from Georgia Southern. Katie Twelves also joined the team for the spring season from the University of Leeds in England.
Scouting The Blue Hens
Delaware has put together a solid season, dropping just three of its last 10 matches. The Blue Hens are currently on a three-match winning streak with wins over NJIT (6-1), Morgan State (4-0) and Drexel (6-1).
The team is 6-4 on the road this season and 7-4 when playing during the week.
Investigating The Bears
Morgan State is riding a two-match burst into Tiger Town, defeating Coppin State (4-1) and Johns Hopkins (5-2) this past weekend.
The Bears are 3-7-1 on the road this slate, most recently falling at Delaware (4-0) on April 12.
Looking Into The Hawks
Saint Joseph's has struggled toward the end of the season, winning just two of its last 10 outings. The team snapped a six-match slide against Coppin State (5-2) before dropping 4-0 decisions most recently to George Washington and UMass.
The Hawks own an 0-2 away mark this campaign.

The Tigers will begin the CAA Championships on Friday, April 29, in Elon, North Carolina.
