Track & Field Returns to Pennsylvania for Skyes & Sabock Challenge

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Towson University track & field team is traveling back to Penn State University this weekend for the Skyes & Sabock Challenge on February 7.

Last Meet Recap
The Black & Gold competed at the Penn State National last weekend in Happy Valley. On the first day of competition, Towson added five new all-time marks, highlighted by another historic performance from junior Baara Stewart. Stewart reset a nearly four-decade program record in the 800m, clocking 2:10.08.

Senior Leeann Redlo improved her own all-time mark in the pentathlon, totaling 3,758 points to rank second all-time in program history. In the 60m prelims, freshman Kadidja Ouattara posted a personal-best time of 7.65, ranking ninth all-time. In the 400m, sophomore Qiora Rollins led the Tigers with a third-place finish, crossing the line in 55.23 to rank fourth all-time. Freshman Mydison Britton also recorded an all-time performance in the event, running 56.92 to rank ninth all-time.

On the second day of competition, the Tigers added five more all-time marks, including another record-breaking performance from Stewart. She reset the program record in the 600m after crossing the line in 1:31.87, marking her third new program record set within a two-week span.

Senior Kiara Murray led Towson in the triple jump, placing fifth overall with a mark of 11.93m to rank fourth all-time. Freshman Jaayah Jenkins recorded a 13th-place finish in the 600m, running 1:34.92 to rank fourth all-time at Towson. Senior Layla James also earned a top-ten finish in the event, placing 10th with a time of 1:34.65, good for third all-time.

In the 4x400m relay, the quartet of Spencer Settle (55.93), Mydison Britton (54.68), Qiora Rollins (55.05) and Stewart (54.99) combined for a time of 3:40.63, finishing second overall and ranking second all-time in program history.

The Tigers are slated to travel to Lynchburg, Virginia for the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational from February 13-14, hosted by Liberty University.
