A three-year starter in midfield who led Tigers to back-to-back East Coast Conference (ECC) championships in 1989 and 1990, Barry Stitz '92 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2011.

Stitz was named to All-ECC team in 1990 and was a member of ECC All-Tournament teams as a junior and senior. The Tigers' team captain as a senior, he was also the team MVP that season. Stitz won the 1991 Towson University Unsung Hero Award.

He served as Tigers’ assistant coach for two years, helping the team win its third straight ECC title in 1991.

Stitz was also an all-league performer for the Baltimore Blast from 1992 to 2000, earning  NPSL Rookie of the Year in 1993. He played in 318 games in his career for the Blast, scoring 138 goals with 130 assists.

He was inducted into the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame in 2008.
