He was named to the All-South team in 1979 and 1980 and was a two-year captain for Coach Rich Bartos during his career.

In 1979, the Tigers first season as a Division I program, he was named fifth team All-South as he led the team to a school-record 12 wins. Morgan became the Tigers’ first All-South selection in 15 years and was the team’s third-leading scorer with six goals and three assists. He had two-goal efforts in wins over Guildford College and Frostburg State.

As a senior, he led the Tigers to a 10-8-1 record and was named third team All-South. He was Towson’s fourth-leading scorer with two goals and two assists. He helped the Tigers to a 2-0 win at Maryland with one of his goals. He also scored in the Tigers’ win over Frostburg State and assisted a goal in Towson’s 2-1 upset win over nationally ranked West Virginia. A native of Baltimore, he earned all-tournament honors at the Baltimore Metro Cup for the third year in a row. A four-year starter, Morgan was an All-Mason-Dixon Conference selection in 1977.

Morgan was honored his senior year by the Tiger Club with the university’s Unsung Hero Award. He served as the vice president of the Towson Soccer Alumni after graduating with a degree in business administration.
