Hall of Fame
One of the greatest gymnasts in school history, Wendy Jo Weaver Kwiatkowski '92 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2002.
She battled numerous injuries to enjoy a record-breaking career. During her four seasons as a Tiger, she helped Towson win four straight ECAC titles and qualify for NCAA regionals all four years.
As a sophomore, she led the Tigers to their first appearance at Nationals with an outstanding performance at the NCAA Southeast regional meet. She finished fourth in the all-around at the regional meet with a 38.374 score. She also took third at the regional meet with a 9.75 score. At Nationals, she helped Towson finish ninth in the nation with a 38.275 score. She was honored as Towson’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1990 and 1992. She was selected as an All-ECAC selection four times in her career.
When she finished her career, she was the fifth-leading scorer in Towson history with 1,313.600 points. She also graduated with the school records on bars (9.85), balance beam (9.85) and all-around (39.20).
She was the first Towson gymnast to break 39.00 in the all-around when she had a 39.20 at North Carolina. A two-year co-captain, Weaver Kwiatkowski also set school records for bars average (9.67) and floor exercise average (9.641). As a senior, she qualified for nationals as an individual all-around.
Her achievements were accomplished in spite of missing half of her freshman season with a broken foot and most of her junior year with a shoulder injury.
An outstanding student-athlete, she was named as the ECAC Scholar-Athlete in 1990. In 1992, she earned third team GTE Academic All-America honors. She also won the Towson Academic Achievement Award.
Upon graduation, she spent three years as an assistant gymnastics coach at Towson.
Weaver Kwiatkowski and her husband, Matt, have three children: Casey Jo, A.J. and Wyatt.
