One of the finest field hockey players to wear a Tiger uniform, Lisa McCullen McPhee '97 finished her career as Towson’s career scoring leader with 26 goals. She was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2007.
Honored as a first team all-region selection in 1996, she was a second team all-conference pick as a junior and senior.
As the Tigers’ senior co-captain, she led them to an 11-7 record as Towson set a school record for wins in a season. In 1996, she scored 16 goals to set a Towson single-season record. Honored as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week in 1996, she scored four goals in one game, a win over Davis & Elkins. She also had three-goal performances in the Tigers’ 3-1 win over Drexel and a 5-1 victory over Hofstra.
An outstanding scholar-athlete, McCullen McPhee was named to the USFHA National Division I Academic squad three times. A Dean’s List student, she graduated with a degree in health science and an emphasis in community health.
The winner of the Towson University Academic Achievement Award in 1997, she was also named as Towson’s Senior Female Athlete of the Year. A three-year starter for the Tigers, McCullen McPhee finished her career with 26 goals and eight assists. She held the school scoring record until the 2003 season.
A native of Absecon, New Jersey, she scored six goals with four assists as a junior when she was the Tigers’ leading scorer. She scored two goals as a sophomore and had two goals as a freshman.
In 1999, she earned her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She also won a research award in occupational therapy for a research article that was published in The Journal of Physical and Occupational Therapy.
