Hall of Fame
A standout performer for the Tiger cross country and track & field teams, Michael D. Carroll '69 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1990.
He competed for the cross country team for two years and was a three-year performer for the track & field squad. He established seven TSU records in track & field.
In 1969, he was named as Towson’s Athlete of the Year.
He held a position as an associate professor at Catonsville Community College and coached track there for 20 years. In 1982, he received the National Junior College Track & Field “Coach of the Year” award. He was also honored as Catonsville’s “Coach of the Year” in 1982.
During his coaching career at Catonsville, he coached 67 All-Americans, 20 national champions and his Cardinal teams set three national records. Along with these accomplishments, he was active with the Elkridge, Md.-area Jaycees and Families Adopting Children Everywhere (FACE).
