One of the pioneers of the athletic program at Towson (then called Maryland State Normal School), Bill Woolston was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1977.

A three-sport athlete, the Towson native competed in baseball, soccer and basketball while studying at the MSNS. Part of the foundation of those three sports, Woolston also sung in the school's glee club.
