Hall of Fame
A three-year standout as a defenseman for the Tiger men’s lacrosse team, Jack Edwards '61 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2006.
One of the leaders of the first three lacrosse teams in school history, he also became the first All-American in school history, earning honorable mention honors in 1960. Honored as a first team All-Middle Atlantic Division defenseman in 1960, he graduated in 1961 and immediately started a 28-year teaching career in Baltimore City.
After graduating from Towson, he remained very active in lacrosse and was a very good defenseman for Maryland Lacrosse Club for 14 years. He earned club all start honors in 1963 and 1867. In 1986, he was inducted into the Maryland Lacrosse Club Hall of Fame.
He also spent 21 years as a lacrosse referee, officiating games at the high school, college and club levels. A long-time resident of Carroll County, Maryland, he was very active in recreation leagues in Carroll County and played master’s lacrosse in the summer.
