One of the most decorated student-athletes in school history, Jen Weaver Steczak '96 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2006.

A four-year starter for the Tiger softball team, she earned Verizon Academic All-America® honors three times. After earning second team notice as a sophomore and junior, she was named first team academic All-America as a senior.

The Tigers’ career batting leader with a .411 average, the Elkton, Maryland, native hit 16 home runs with 97 runs batted in during her career. The Tigers’ leading hitter three times, she was the NCAA Division I batting champion as a senior when she hit .514 and was named first team All-America.

The 1996 America East Player of the Year, she was named to the all-league first team as a senior after being named first team All-Big South Conference twice.

When she graduated, she owned nearly all of the Tiger career batting records. She was also a star pitcher for the Tigers as she appeared in 50 games and compiled a 27-15 record with five shutouts and a 2.24 E.R.A. In 1996, she was honored as Towson University’s Female Athlete of the Year.

A physical education teacher at Perryville High School in Cecil County, she has also done well as the softball coach at Perryville High School, leading the team to third place finishes in the Maryland state tournament in 2004 and 2005. She was honored as the Cecil County Coach of the Year twice.
