A four-year starter at linebacker, Mike Arbutina '96 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2011.

He finished his career as the second-leading tackler in school history. Named as the Tigers' Defensive Player of the Year twice, he made 361 tackles in his career to finish second on Towson's career list. The linebacker led the Tigers in tackles for three straight years, recording over 100 tackles in one season twice.

In the first two years of Arbutina's career, the Tigers went 16-4 and finished the season ranked 24th in the 1993 NCAA I-AA final poll and 26th in 1994. As a junior and senior, Arbutina helped the Tigers to 6-4 records in each year.

"The three things I learned while playing football at Towson were pride, dignity and respect," Arbutina said. "I am grateful to Coach [Phil] Albert and Coach [Gordy] Combs. They turned me around as a person."
