A two-year co-captain for the Tigers, Bill Leonard '87 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1997.

He finished his career as Towson’s career leader with 366 assists and as the top Division I scorer with 1,469 points. A four-year starter in the Tiger backcourt, Leonard was the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year. A two-time all-conference second team selection, the McKeesport, Pa., native led Towson in scoring as a junior and senior.

He closed out his career by leading Towson to a second-place finish in the ECC Tournament and graduating in the top 10 in career scoring. In the final game of his college career, he scored a career-high 27 points in Towson’s upset bid against Bucknell in the ECC title game. He was named as Towson's Senior Male Athlete of the Year in 1987.

He returned to his alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach in 1993 and worked with the staff for two years. He worked as a senior executive at 20/20 Laser Centers. His son, Matt, followed his father to Towson, playing for the lacrosse program.
