Hall of Fame
One of the finest defensemen ever to wear a Towson uniform, Ron Klausner '89 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1999.
He was a three-year starter at close defense for the Tigers. During his career, he led the Tigers to their first NCAA Division I playoff appearance in 1988. He also earned All-East Coast Conference honors two years in a row and was named as an honorable mention All-America defenseman in 1988. He also played in the North-South Game after his senior year and helped Towson earn Top 20 rankings four years in a row. He was a member of three conference championship teams as well.
After graduation, he served as an assistant lacrosse coach for Carl Runk at Towson and was a member of the Tigers’ 1991 NCAA runner-up coaching staff. A veteran performer in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL) form 1989 to 1995, he was selected an alternate for Team USA in 1994 and 1998.
In addition to his two years as an assistant lacrosse coach at Towson, he coached for three years at The John Hopkins University, helping the Blue Jays reach the Final Four twice.
A native of Wantagh, N.Y., he is currently the vice president of Alert Home Security.
