One of the first All-American lacrosse players in Towson history, John Grubb '70 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988.

Grubb was a second team All-America defenseman for the Tigers in 1969. The team captain in 1970, he helped the team post an 11-2 record; at the time, it was the best mark in school history.

An all-state collegiate selection in 1970, he was named All-Mason-Dixon Conference as a junior and senior.

Grubb was one of the most successful high school lacrosse coaches in Maryland, serving as head coach of North Harford High School for 36 years. Over his tenure Grubb won a total of 354 lacrosse games, 14 Harford County championships, eight Maryland state regional championships, two Maryland state championships, and guided three Maryland state finalists. He has been named Harford County Coach of the Year seven times by the USLCA and Man of the Year twice.

After retiring from Harford County Public Schools in 2010, Grubb has continued his envolvement in lacrosse by directing three summer lacrosse camps along with fellow Hall of Famers Frank Mezzanotte and Ron Cadorette.

Grubb still coaches lacrosse at Kennard Dale High School in his hometown of Delta, Pa. with fellow Hall of Fame member Tom Nelson.
