Hall of Fame
An important member of the first Towson gymnastic teams, Dorothy Crocker Hyman '71 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993.
She served as team captain for the Tigers’ first national championship team in any sport. As a member of the 1969 Tigers, who won the AIAW Division II national championship, she helped Towson win the title in just the second season of the program.
At the championship meet, she finished 10th nationally in the vault. In addition she helped the Tigers post a 10-1 record in 1970 and a 5-3 mark as a senior in 1971. Along with former teammate Candi Normile Klopp ’71, she was the first Tiger gymnast to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
A physical education teacher at Towson for over a decade, she also served as the official scorer at Towson gymnastic meets and as the program’s alumni director. She also taught in the Baltimore County school system.
