Hall of Fame
A four-year starter at goalkeeper for the Tigers, Marty Guolo '82 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 1997.
He is the Tigers’ career record holder with 20 shutouts and 575 saves. As a senior in 1981, he was named to the All-South team. As a freshman in 1978, Guolo set a Towson single-season record with 172 saves while helping the Tigers to a 7-9-1 record.
Honored as the team’s Most Valuable Player in 1980 and 1981, he led the Tigers to three straight winning seasons. In 1979, he was the goalkeeper for the Tigers’ first Division I team and helped Towson to a 12-7-1 record as the Tigers established a school record for wins in a season.
A Baltimore native who attended Loch Raven High School, he had a career record of 38-32-3, including a 10-8-1 mark as a junior and a 9-8 record as a senior.
