Hall of Fame
A two-sport athlete Bill competed in baseball and basketball for Towson State Teachers College during a career that was interrupted by a two-year stint in the Army during the Korean War when he served 18 months in the conflict.
After returning from the Army Bill completed his undergraduate degree in elementary education while earning eight letters in the two sports, including the MVP honor in basketball his senior year. That same year he was named Towson’s Athlete of the Year.
Bill was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980 and later served as its president. After earning a graduate degree in Education, he served as a principal at various Baltimore County elementary schools during a span of 30 years. Bill passed away in October, 2026 at the age of 95.
