A two-sport athlete and all-conference performer in both soccer and softball, Courtney McClelland Gonzalez '96 was inducted into the Towson Hall of Fame in 2006.
A four-year starter for the Tiger women’s soccer team, she started the first 63 games ever played by the Tigers and finished her career as Towson’s all-time scoring leader with 24 goals and 14 assists.
She was named second team All-Big South Conference as a sophomore. As a junior, she scored four goals to earn second team All-Big South honors for the second time. In 1995, she was a Tiger co-captain and scored 2 goals with 7 assists.
A graduate of Dulaney High School (Md.), she also played three years of softball for the Tigers, leading the team to a 71-36 record. A three-year starter who played shortstop and catcher, she batted .346 in her career, the fifth-highest batting average in school history at the time of her graduation. In 1994, she was named first team All-Big South.
Formerly the head women’s soccer coach at Frostburg State, she is married to Darryl Gonzalez and has three children.
